Which experience is right for me?
Quad tours are for people who want their own vehicle and a sporty, motorbike-like feel. They are the most popular Merzouga desert activity for friends and solo travellers, and they come in every length from one hour to a full day.
Buggy tours seat you side by side with a steering wheel and seat belts. Couples and families love them because the whole experience is shared, and many drivers find them more familiar than a quad.
Packages combine a ride with a night in a desert camp — with or without a camel trek. They save planning time and give you sunset and sunrise in the dunes in one simple booking.
For a first time on a quad or buggy, two hours is the sweet spot: about thirty minutes to build confidence, then real time in the big dunes. One hour is perfect if your schedule is tight or you are not sure you will enjoy it. Three hours, half a day or a full day are for riders who already feel at ease and want to see the wider desert around Erg Chebbi.
Whatever you choose, the price basis is always shown on the card, and every page explains what happens on the day — so you know exactly what you are booking.
If you arrive in the afternoon and leave the next morning, the classic plan is a sunset quad or sunset buggy before dinner, or the quad + camel + night package if you want to sleep in the dunes. A sunrise ride the next morning fits perfectly before you leave.
With more time, try a half-day or full-day tour to see the desert beyond the dunes, and combine it with the other experiences in our things to do in Merzouga guide.
