About the 1-Hour Buggy Tour in Merzouga
A 1-hour buggy tour in Merzouga is the easiest way to share the thrill of the dunes with someone else. Unlike a quad, a buggy has a steering wheel, pedals, side-by-side seats and seat belts, so it feels much closer to driving a car. That makes it ideal for couples who want to ride together, or for a parent who wants a child sitting beside them.
After a briefing on the controls and the rules, you follow your guide out into the first dunes of Erg Chebbi. The buggy handles soft sand with confidence and climbs slopes smoothly, so even nervous drivers settle in quickly. Halfway through, we stop on a dune for photos and a look across the sand sea, then take a different route back.
One hour is a short, fun introduction. If you enjoy it, the 2-hour buggy tour reaches the larger dunes and gives you time to really feel the machine.

1-Hour Buggy Tour: frequently asked questions
Do I need a driving licence for the buggy?
No. You can drive our buggies and quads without a driving or motorbike licence. Drivers must be at least 16.
How many people fit in a buggy?
Our buggies are 2-seaters: one driver and one passenger. The price is per buggy, so two people share it.
Is a buggy easier than a quad?
Many people find it easier because it drives like a car and has seat belts. See our quad vs buggy comparison.
Can a child ride in the buggy?
Yes. Children under 16 ride as passengers next to an adult driver.
How do I book the 1-Hour Buggy Tour?
Send us a message on WhatsApp or use the booking form with your date, number of people and hotel. We confirm availability and the exact time, usually within a few hours. No online payment is needed to request a booking.
What happens if the weather is bad?
If strong wind or a sandstorm makes riding unsafe, we reschedule or cancel without charge.
