About the Half-Day Buggy Tour in Merzouga
A half-day buggy tour from Merzouga is a comfortable way to cover real distance in the desert. Seated side by side with seat belts and a roll cage, you can explore further than on a short ride, while still sharing the experience with your passenger.
The route is agreed before departure. It typically combines a dune section in Erg Chebbi with the wider desert around it, with stops for photos, rest and whatever interests you most. Your guide knows the area and will suggest what is worth seeing in the current season.
Because it is longer, a morning start is usually best. In winter, afternoon departures are also comfortable.
The half-day buggy tour is also a good choice if one of you would like to drive and the other prefers to relax and take photos. Swap drivers at a stop if you both want a turn, or let one person enjoy the view the whole time. With around four hours, nobody needs to rush, and the route can include a long break in the shade when the sun is high.
