Quad biking · Erg Chebbi
Quad biking in the Erg Chebbi dunes with a local guide — choose the ride that fits your time, your experience and the light you want to see.
Merzouga quad tours are the fastest way to feel the scale of the Sahara. In a few minutes you leave the village behind and ride into Erg Chebbi, a sea of orange dunes that rises out of the flat desert of south-east Morocco. Our quads are automatic, so if you can ride a bicycle you can learn to ride one, and every tour starts with a briefing and a practice on flat sand.
What changes from one tour to the next is how far into the dunes you go, how much variety you see and what time of day you ride. Below you can filter every Merzouga quad tour by duration or moment of the day, then open the page that interests you to see the route, the timeline, what is included and the price.

Sand is not like a road. In soft sand the quad floats and slides a little, and you learn to keep a steady throttle on the way up a dune and to come down slowly and straight. It sounds technical, but most riders get the hang of it within the first fifteen minutes — and that moment when it clicks is a big part of the fun.
Your guide rides in front and chooses lines that suit the group. On a short ride you stay on rolling dunes close to Merzouga village; on longer Merzouga quad tours you climb higher crests, cross deep valleys and reach viewpoints where the dunes stretch in every direction.
Between rides you will stop for photos, catch your breath and enjoy the silence. That contrast — engine noise, then complete quiet — is what many guests remember most.
The 1-hour and 2-hour quad tours, or the sunset quad. They start gently and stay on dunes suited to beginners.
