Merzouga Quad is a small, locally run quad and buggy operator in Merzouga village, on the western edge of Erg Chebbi in south-east Morocco. The dunes are not a backdrop for us; they are the landscape we know best. We see how the wind reshapes them after a storm, where the sand stays soft, which crests catch the first light and where the silence is deepest.
We started Merzouga Quad to offer something we felt was often missing: rides that are fun and well organised, with honest information before you book. That means clear prices, clear durations and clear answers about what is and is not included — the same things we would want to know if we were the ones travelling.
How we work
Every ride is guided
A guide from our team rides with every group, from the briefing to the return. The guide chooses the route according to the conditions and the riders, sets the pace, takes your photos and makes sure everyone gets back with a smile.
Your group, your pace
We adapt each ride to the people on it. A family with a child passenger, two friends who ride motorbikes at home and a couple on their first trip to the Sahara do not need the same ride — so they do not get the same ride.
Information before persuasion
We would rather you choose the right tour than the most expensive one. If one hour is enough, we will say so. If a buggy suits you better than a quad, we will say that too. Everything you need to decide is on this website: prices, what to expect, safety and FAQ.

Respect for the desert and its people
Erg Chebbi is a living place. Nomadic families graze animals around the dunes, villages like Hassilabied, Merzouga and Khamlia sit at its edges, and camel caravans carry visitors to the camps every evening. We ride with that in mind:
- We keep away from camps, tents and grazing animals, and slow down near people and camels.
- We take every piece of rubbish back with us.
- We avoid the busiest areas at the busiest times, which is better for the desert and for you.
- We work with local people and keep the benefits of tourism in the community.
